Tim White is an artist and writer, and recently published his first book of photographs, In and Out of Context, in collaboration with 21 Northland poets, songwriters, and prose artists. The images above are included in that 2016 book.

The Duluth Art Institute hosted his exhibition of photographs related to the book with the same title; In and Out of Context in summer 2016. The show was reviewed as a "best bet" in the News Tribune and was nominated for and placed 2nd at the 2017 NEMBA Awards.  In and Out of Context feature his thoughtful black and white images, soft focused but tightly framed, paired with words by the likes of Louis Jenkins, Linda LeGarde Grover, Paul Lundgren, Rachael Kilgour and Ellie Schoenfeld.  The exhibition included a poetry workshop, an artist talk and a performance by 2016 NPR Tiny Desk Concert-award winner Gaelynn Lea.

White was interviewed by WDSE on The Playlist and we have that interview below.
